"children are being taught that God loves them and that deciding to follow Jesus is the very best way to lead a full and successful life" |
The Children's Ministry at Kirkholt Community Church is very much at the heart of the church vision, Changing a Generation. Through schools work and church based activities, children are being taught that God loves them and that deciding to follow Jesus is the very best way to lead a full and successful life. Friday Club runs every Friday and now has a membership scheme in place. There are 60 places available and application packs are available on Fridays if there are places (a waiting list will be in operation if there no places are left). During the evening the children are given a Bible message after which they can play games or do craft activities. Rewards and prizes are given for good behaviour. Click here to read the welcome letter and Friday Club/Home agreement or to download a membership form click here. On Sundays, following a time of worship the children go into Sunday School for their own age-related Bible teaching and activities. Pre-school children are looked after in our crèche where they too have their own Bible story and activities. The schools work involves story times, RE lessons and taking assemblies in two of our local schools, Sandbrook Community Primary School and St Mary's CE School. Recently the church has started to sponsor a young boy who has shown great potential in gymnastics - he is taken twice a week to Bury Gymnastics Club and is put through his paces! If you would like Rachel to help with training or advise on how to set up/run a Childrens Ministry including schools work please see the contact page for details. |
